Rambam Synagogue, called "Rab Moshe", in Haret el-Yahud of Cairo, was built after Rambam death in 1204, next to the Yeshiva where Rambam used to teach the Torah, and where he was buried temporarily before being transferred to Tiberius. The Jews of Egypt used to pray for health, by sleeping a whole night at Rambam Yeshiva. (From the book "The Golden Era of the Jews of Egypt" by Levana Zamir) October 4, 2010 لا تعليقات
